'I Wana Go Surfing' Woodburning

$500.00

Do you ever yearn so badly for something? Yearning for the ocean was all I felt when making this piece. I missed her so deeply.

The poem I wrote that inspired this piece:

“The ocean. She’s all I can think about really. When I was younger, I loved her…But I had a suddle knowing to stay out of her path, to not get in her way, to not go to deep

And now… my roots are blue if that makes sense.

2 years ago I fled to the sea, I slowly started feeling her, her essence, her touch. Approaching her softly and carefully. I had the blessing of seeing her in all her glory in different areas of the world. and oh how beautiful she is… how she meets the mountainous coast lines and sandy beaches, and she does both with such grace.

And as I write this i start to realize as I was getting to know the ocean, I was geting to know myself. And that the thing I was avoiding when I was younger ,was me. I wasnt ready to swim in the depths of my soul and my shadow. The ocean meets me everyday exacly as I meet myself. As I explore the depths of her, I explore the depths of me. The forests are my peace, my temple, my breath The ocean is my sadness, my shadow, my joy, my unconditional love. She who is wild and gentle. I am not afraid anymore… I am in love. And as I sit in the landlocked state I was born in, I cant stop thinking about her.”
